Some of the important temples found in Luxor are:
Karnak Temple: Known as the largest place of worship in Ancient Egypt, with a history spanning thousands of years. The temple features hundreds of columns standing side by side. 2
Luxor Temple: Located on the eastern bank of the Nile, built around 1400 BC. The temple is dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship. Its entrance has 6 large statues of pharaohs and 2 huge obelisks. 351
Temple of Hatshepsut: Located in the Deir el-Bahari area, carved into the flat, steep rocky hills in the middle of the desert. The temple focuses on the life and achievements of Hatshepsut. 1
These temples are listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
