November 2026 1 departures
Phuket is the diving gateway to the Andaman Sea, and the wind sets its season. November to April is the dry period: calm sea, high visibility, regular daily boat departures. Between May and October the southwest monsoon lifts the sea; some of the offshore sites cannot be reached and visibility fluctuates. Water temperature is around 28-30 degrees all year — the wetsuit is thin, and what decides things is the state of the sea rather than the temperature.
The region's sites offer distinct characters packed into a short distance. At Shark Point leopard sharks rest on the sand; the King Cruiser, a ferry wreck, can be toured as a skeleton; the wall at Koh Dok Mai is covered in macro life; and the clear bays of Phi Phi and Racha islands are ideal for a new diver. Wreck, wall, reef and macro can all be dived within the same tour.
Phuket's second face begins once you are out of the water: temples, street food and the island's own life fill the non-diving time of the programme on their own. Our tour in this region is placed in late November and early December, that is, in the weeks when the season opens.
