Jordan Diving and Cultural Tour
Aqaba sits on the narrow gulf at the northernmost tip of the Red Sea and is Jordan's only sea gate. That narrowness makes the diving easy: most sites are entered from the shore, the current is usually weak and the sea rarely gets up. Water temperature falls to 21 degrees in February and reaches 27-28 degrees in August; it can be dived all year.
The region is known not for the Red Sea's big-animal spectacle but for its detail — more than four hundred and fifty fish species, healthy coral gardens and everything macro photography looks for. Added to that are structures deliberately sunk here: the Cedar Pride wreck, a military tank, a transport aircraft and a group of vehicles arranged as an underwater museum. The result is a rare place where a beginner and a technical diver can share the same shore.
The rest of Jordan gives a companion who does not dive their own reason to come. Petra's rock-cut facade and the red sand desert of Wadi Rum are a few hours from Aqaba. Our programme in this region is built around the diving together with these two stops.
