RAID Master Rescue Diver

As a diver, you are responsible not only for your own safety but also for the safety of other divers. This course develops your skills for managing both surface and underwater emergencies and enables you to carry out effective rescue techniques at depths of up to 20 metres.

Course content

Theory section (online training)

• Diving safety and procedures: Risks that may be encountered underwater and the precautions taken against them.
• Environmental factors: Assessing the effects of the environment where the dive takes place.
• Rescue equipment: How the equipment used in scenarios works and how to use it correctly.
• Physics and physiology: The effects of diving on your body.
• Operation management: Techniques for managing and coordinating rescue operations.

Practical section

• Review of personal skills: Assessing and developing your existing skills.
• Stamina and water skills: Improving physical stamina and water skills.
• Rescue breathing and first aid: Learning and applying rescue breathing techniques for emergencies.
• Rescue scenarios: Response skills in realistic surface and underwater scenarios.
• Scene management: Team coordination and scene management in rescue situations.

Course entry requirements

• Minimum age of 15.
• Completion of the Master Rescue academic section's quick test and exam.
• At least 12 hours of underwater experience with open-circuit equipment.
• RAID Advanced 35 (Open Water) or Explorer 30 certification, or an equivalent certification from a recognised training organisation.
• A current rescue breathing / CPR and oxygen provider certification.
• Submission of the required approved documents before in-water training.

Certification

Once certified as a RAID Master Rescue Diver, you will have the skills to ensure not only your own safety but also the safety of others.
