If you've just taken your first steps into diving and want to move up to the next level, the Explorer 30 course is an excellent choice. The programme develops your diving skills and reinforces your fundamental dive knowledge.

Course content

The Explorer 30 programme requires three core dives and two elective dives:

  • Deep dive: you develop your ability to dive to depths of up to 30 metres / 100 feet.
  • Navigation dive: you develop your skills in finding your bearings and following the correct route underwater.
  • Buoyancy dive: you develop your underwater balance and buoyancy skills for more controlled dives.
  • Elective dives: you complete two elective dives chosen from twelve different options, gaining experience in the areas that interest you most.

Course entry requirements

  • Age: a minimum of 15 years old.
  • Previous certification: hold a RAID Open Water 20 certification or equivalent.
  • Health and paperwork: complete the diver medical form, liability release and safe diving practices form; obtain a doctor's approval if you have any health concerns.
